Best antibiotic or treatment for babesia

What is the best treatment for babesia. Which antibiotic is the best? Ive heard of Mepron or malarone are the main ones. What are the risk of taking these medications. I am already on rifabutin and azithromycin and Buhner protocol for lyme. Ive never treated for babesia so I was wondering if it was still possible I have this confection even though I tested negative via igenex and don't have the classic symptoms such as air hunger or night sweats

Anti malarials - Mepron or Malarone. Pair at least one antibiotic with it.
My llmd treats Babesia first.
Yes, you could have untreated babesia

i think a macrolide like Azithromycin is often used in combination with Mepron/Malarone - which you are on already so that could make it easier

Marty ross has pretty good straightforward info on protocols for all co-infections without getting too deep into the weeds

he suggests the following:

"Atovaquone/Proguanil Combinations
Atovaquone/proguanil (Malarone) 250 mg/100 mg. Start the atovaquone/proguanil at 2 pills 2 times a day for 3 days, and then decrease to 1 pill 2 times a day. Combine it with one of the following:

Azithromycin (Zithromax) 500 mg 1 time a day,
Clarithromycin (Biaxin) 500 mg 1 pill 2 times a day,
Doxycycline 100 mg 2 pills 2 times a day, or
Minocycline 100 mg 1 pill 2 times a day."

The above treatments have been proven effective, I would add in ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine as an additional treatment consideration also.

I believe to get rid of babesia you need to treat to get beyond the life expectancy of a red blood cell, about 6 months.

I started with malarone, but after a week or two started feeling very tired and nervous. A blood test revealed that my folate was low. I had no problem with mepron.

Mepron alone isn't all that effective, usually it's paired with azithromycin/clarithromycin/doxycycline/minocycline.

Also I took artemisinin, which gave me insonmnia and sweating. I don't know what exactly it did, but it did something.

What all did you test via igenix? I only got a positive on B.Duncani IGG.

Currently taking a few things for spleen support + crypto plus + artemisinin 2 days a week cycled. It’s definitely doing something.

My doc prefers herbals over RX for babesia.

Never tested for Babesia.I did test positive for Lyme via Igenex.
My llmd treats all patients for Babesia and followed by Bartonella - while treating Lyme the entire time.
