OK, I just read your post over:
*** HIGH AM glucose, BUT then it drops to 39.**
-------------------------------------------------------------------
My experience:
I had high AM cortisol and glucose, (first stage of adrenal fatigue),
Then Low cortisol in afternoon BUT normal glucose by that time. I was never low glucose.
Ive actually had every type of cortisol test available in natural medicine and conventional.
My high AM cortisol actually felt like a combo of wired and tired at the same time, cause if your not using cortisol it will tire you out in a very nervous way.
--------------------------------------------------------
You might be in the next stage of adrenal fatigue (?) I wonder if your afternoon cortisol is super low, pulling down the sugar level with it???
-------------------------------------------------------------------
High Cortisol signals the liver to release sugar for energy to run away from that saber tooth tiger that just spotted you. Oh wait, no big cat in the picture, but possibly your whole body is just totally stressed from these infections. Your thyroid might be a little out of kilter too.
**Holy basil is usually a calming adrenal adaptogen for MOST people. It lowers high cortisol, and then also lowers blood glucose in MOST people, and it did/does with me.** In times of stress I take this in the AM.
HB supposedly will increase glucose when its low to.
Coffee elevates cortisol and can then increase blood sugar. Ive tested this theory on my self, it was true.
