An Update on My Sister's Condition

No major progress yet, unfortunately, but some interesting developments nonetheless. Her current doctor, who we've been with for the last couple of months, is really trying to go after the mold and mycotoxins present in her body. His theory is that there's something going on with those that's causing treatment for the various bacteria to be less effective than it should be, and those need to be eliminated first. She's taking intravenous phosphatidylcholine, and is working her way up to 15 mL per dose over the course of a number of weeks (she's at 8 right now, and is adding one more mL per week). She takes two doses a week currently, and the doctor eventually wants her taking five. So, in the end, she will be taking 15 mL five times per week.
Does anyone have any experience with phosphatidylcholine? If so, did it help, and how long did it take you to feel a difference?

Also, he believes that she has limbic issues that are contributing to her pain and sensory input problems. She does suffer from very deep trauma due to crap my parents did to her as a kid. I am planning on going to therapy with them soon so that they can work on their own issues and the whole family system can start to improve. I think her body would have had a much better response to her infections, whenever they may have occurred, had she not had a compromised immune system from the years of emotional abuse and neglect. Unfortunately, she seems very hesistant to engage with DNRS programs like Hopper or Gupta at the present time. I do think, though, that my parents really acknowledging the damage that they inflicted upon her and working to heal themselves may bolster her in its own way; things like that can often assist trauma survivors in their own healing. I am hopeful that it will have some effect.

She is living with my folks, and their place was air tested for mold, showing nothing out of the ordinary.

Is ERMI really necessary? I thought that those tests are of debatable validity and can pick up spores that aren’t even active.

I am very sorry to hear about your sister. You mentioned past trauma as a child?

Unfortunately ( not saying it happens to everyone) some people who suffer such trauma, or other hardships, crisis it can really make them ill in the chronic state.

When I first entered treatment, regarding lyme, I heard stories of people say they could have possibly had Lyme starting in their childhood ( bitten, exposed) and it reered its ugly head later in adulthood when their immune system went down due to a triggering stressor such as a divorce, death of a spouse or child, abuse, physical injury, job loss etc.

What I'm saying is it's amazing and absolutely devastating and frightening how these things augment our illnesses/sensitivitiesand possibly prevent many from getting well? Chronic stressors and past trauma. ❤
