Ammonia Smell

The usual suspicion for ammonia smell is bartonella, although I've noticed that borrelia has a slightly different smell when it dies.

Yep, i have the ammonia sweat smell also - this seemed to come on more and more strongly the longer i have been ill - mostly in the last 2-3years.

Bart is a big part of my symptom picture - and is also visible in my blood on microscope slides so i can be pretty confident of that diagnosis - i think lyme is in the picture too - based on armin labs positive test

my armpits literally smell like a tom cat has reversed into them - even right after a shower or bath!!

i have not found anything that is very effective at combatting it
possibly natural salt deodorant to some degree - so i use that when going out in public

i do think diet has some effect - i am eating a ketogenic diet now - and have been for a couple of years - and this seems to exacerbate it - no big surprise as is a higher protein diet than typical western diet ( so more nitrogen going in - and likely burning some protein for energy )

i have noticed it increase when herxing from treatment - esp treatment for bart - so it makes sense to me that you might notice it while on dapsone

as i start to recover and lower the bacterial load i think it is reducing a little

doesn't last for long - a few hrs at most - but its all natural - and so v few downsides

maybe Gh will chime in on how gram neg gut bacteria creates excess ammonia . here is a few things have helped : chlorella by the handful, biotoxin binder from celcore has yucca , and bentonite baths with acv to draw it out ...
