Got routine blood work done and my ebv test came back one was flagged in the high range and label A I think for active. The ignition was at a .2 value but the igg value was the one flag high and A. Does this mean active infection ? Can ebv cause burrows psych symptoms?

be aware that EBV and lyme antibodies cross react meaning
serology for EBV can be positive if you have lyme
or serology for lyme can be positive if you have EBV

serology cannot really reliably tell them apart - and it seems few LLMDs are fully aware of this - preferring instead to do more treatments ....

also note that 95% of the population still have EBV inside them after getting it when younger - so serological methods are forced to try to choose a "cut-off" of antibody levels that differentiate past and active infections - but its pretty ropey science in a population that, by definition, has disrupted immune responses.

PCR test for EBV can distinguish true positive EBV from false positive EBV serology - so that is what i would do if i was concerned EBV was an issue

As have done before, I agree with Garzie on having the PCR (may be referred to as EBV DNA test) done. This lets you know if the virus is actually replicating. My antibodies have been high for as long as I can remember for EBV, but PCR tests have been negative last five times.
