Well I probably had to do more than you’ll have to do, It’s not so easy to summarize :
Looking back I most likely had this for decades ever since a child. As the saying goes it wax and waned throughout the years. So I didn’t know any different and just kept on doing all my athletic stuff including endurance events in my 20s until it was obvious that for some reason I could no longer do them in my mid 30s.
**Since I was active or tried to be in between the pain, I didn’t lose any noticeable weight from the infections but I did lose muscle strength at lymes peak, and I would get tendinitis all over the place, which eventually turned into a long-term problem, That led to tendon and muscle injuries. I couldn’t even ride a bike casually or just have a casual workout at the gym, I would have pain for weeks after., And basically zero muscle recovery**
I thought for sure I had MS or something similar I was tested for many muscle and or neurological diseases and had none of them.
I tried many different types of physical therapy that did not work because my tight tendons were limiting my muscle movement, and physical therapy is not very good at figuring out tendons, they actually suck at it.
So I did find some chiropractors that knew how to adress tendon issuesWith what’s called active release technique. So I tried my best to learn that on my own, I also learned myofascial muscle release, which I did both for years On my own and sometimes with chiropractic clinicians who would do this when I got to a tricky area.
The above did help some when I still had Lyme, but my muscles and tendons were much easier to treat after Tick infection treatment, Which ended in like five or six years ago now.
So for the last four years I’ve gained a lot of range of motion muscle and tendon improvements which I’m constantly testing when I go to the gym. Now in my mid 50s,I have gained noticable muscle strength (about
30% upper body strength gain). I can again ride a bicycle without being sore the next day.
Just remember how awesome it is in these times you can ask people, forums or even Facebook questions specific to health and figure things out.
