Which (edit: wish) there was a great thyroid forum on the net. If there is, ive not found it. Was one good one that changed ownership and went down hill years ago.

The Stop The thyroid Maddness site has a forum, which is 100% controlled by the sites owner. This lady is an egotistical control freak (madd as the site name suggests?), Ive spoken to her via phone. I mentioned some thyroid medicine truth on the forum that she did not like posted, and chewed me out lol!!. She is NOT 100% correct on her posted "assumptions". Others have noted this as well (on youtube also). The site does have some good resources though.

i have run into similar "Thyroid Zealots" who feel their truth is the only truth

Reality seems to be somewhat different - and all of the models / explanation of how the thyroid works are only true to a point - just the best we have at present - but not necessarily the immutable final truth.

Endocrinology gets very complex very fast and i don't think anyone yet fully understands it
least of all the endocrinologists!

I was spaced out in a mental fog for half the day during elementary school. Teachers would sometimes yell at me for that. Or ask a question deliberately when they could tell I was zoning out, trying to embarrass me on purpose.

I got reprimanded for yawning and being very sleepy eyed during a school music class sing-along thing. Not like I could help it.

Elementary school pictures, which I just seen again for the first time in decades, I look half asleep with bags under my eyes!!

I wasn’t just tired, I was very fatigued, which we all know here there is a major difference between the two. Regular people do not know the difference, and quite frankly, many just don’t care or believe it.

Astro - so you likely had hypothyroidism since childhood?

I bet there’s a lot of kids who did have it but didn’t complain about being tired because they didn’t know better or if they did complain they were called lazy.

I have never had normal energy. Im not sure what thats like. But, I do have more energy now though.

Most of my life I mentally and physically had two speeds; 1st gear / borderline sleepy, and 5th gear/ pedal to the metal (from living off cortisol).

(These two body speeds would sometimes really confuse (and maybe embarrass lol) people in my past sports competition from decades ago. Cortisol and adrenaline combined with will power and desire can be amazing, but tire you out too.)

I have been analytical since childhood and noticed differences in energy reserves between others and myself from a young age. I even asked other kids after doing similar things. They were not tired yet. Or not as much. Same questions and results when I was a young adult.

Since the main very hypo thyroid symptoms and the main /usual tick infection symptoms overlap- I will never know what I had since childhood,...maybe both? Impossible to know.

There is a massage therapist in my town like that, and she tries to give people medical advice.

Her answer to lyme: "it can be completely cured with repetitive fasting since the cells are then replaced, that simple" - ya right.

And hypothyroid : "all you need is more iodine!" -I asked how that is going to re-grow my physically damaged thyroid (antibody damage). She was somewhat puzzled and obviously has neither.

My naturopath actually agreed with my general practitioners recommendation to drop my level thyroxine. But she advised only dropping it by half a pill per week. I have decided just to proceed by dropping at a whole pill per week. Given that I am on a thyroid supplement and treating infections I assume both are having an influence on my thyroid levels. So here goes…
