Please offer any guidance or suggestions. After doing oral abx/supplements/herbs for 5 months and not making enough progress, LLMD had me do 4 weeks IV Ceftriaxone.
After the 4th week I became sicker than I've ever ever been: violent shaking, shooting nerve pain in my legs, violent dry heaving/wretching, panic attacks.
We stopped all abx for now and will try to focus on detox. My questions are:
1) Is this really a Herx, or did the IV hurt me so much that I am now sicker again?
2) Has anyone here had a violent herx like this, with panic attacks, shaking, dry-heaving? What helped?
Thank you for any support you can offer.

When I started a new protocol (a very aggressive protocol to target Bartonella and Persisters) under the care of LLMD Dr J (Washington, DC) my first round I herxed badly.
I had the shaking, bad nerve pain, along with a high fever and nausea.
Pain off the charts.
My husband kept watch over me all night and he called in sick the next day - he was worried - ready to take me to the ER if needed.
But the herxing each round after wasn’t as bad.
If I’m recalling correctly - DrJ had me take some of the abx on M/WF instead of 5 days straight.
I am now in remission and back to the land of the living - and I even started working again after about
7 years off.
