Not lyme, but any foreign brain matter info is kind of good info for lymies.

For lymies we do have that program specific MRI brain scan by....NueroQuant brain volume test . You never read or hear about it for lyme anymore. I did it 7-8 years ago and was surprised and relieved by the normal results.

Ive met a few older people who had this. One out of three is still alive. (It was way beyond brain fog and forgetfulness).

Its like the human brain can only absorb so much debris and junk before the check engine light is permanently stuck on.

i agree that may diseases of inflammation share a good deal of commonality - esp in the brain

but that drug trial they mentioned was just the latest in a long line of drug trials trying to target amyloid beta over the last 20 years
all of which to date have been failures - and this one - while claimed as a success - had only a very mild effect - a 27% reduction
so will not stop you developing of dying of Alzheimer's
some experts said that caregivers may not be able to notice any difference

i think they are barking up the wrong tree with the "amyloid Beta Hypothesis" for Alzheimer's
but have invested too much time and money to go and look for a new tree a this point - so they keep banging away at the old one

its another example of how western medical theories can be wrong - but it can still take then 30 years to u-turn

i even read some articles - i think by McDonald - the Lyme pathologist who found borrelia in the brains of Alzheimer's patients - that said amyloid beta is a powerful antimicrobial substance - and the brain may be making it in response to infection....

I know the"lyme brain team" of McDonald and Tomas Grier found borrelia and nematode (worms) in upper Mid-West US MS brains......didnt know they also inspected Alzheimer's brains and found the same.......hmm....interesting. I was at a presentation on “MS and lyme brain” by Thomas Greer in Minnesota since that’s where he’s from.

I knew a "back woods" old guy (in lyme country) who's kids (my friends) refused to think of the lyme brain possibility (and many other symptoms) in their fathers decline and eventual death - but they believed every other label (without proof) conventional healthcare threw at him. RIP.

I decided not to drive a wedge between the whole thing, and watched from a distance as the decline happened. My "test drive" was not received well....because I'm not a "Dr". Never mind that most of my similar symptoms improved after ABX- and they knew it. We can only help those who are accepting of deeper thought. The guy kind of gave up to, you need a desire to live.

Many people die from SEVERAL factors combined along with age. Some real, some less real.

I lost my dear dad to Alzheimer’s in 2020. Although the illness runs in his side of the family, so do autoimmune issues which clue me into something causing immune dysfunction, years before the Alzheimer’s, he struggled with gut dysfunction, food sensitivities and what seemed to be histamine intolerance. Now that I face my own health struggles, I make obvious comparisons.I only hope I can get the check engine light to switch off for me.

yep - McDonald did some good work and got very little recognition for it

i spoke to this lady recently - who lost her husband to rapid onset Alzheimer's - driven by Tock borne disease - has written a book and is advocating for more Lyme awareness now
