The doctor's office squeezed me in at the end of their day yesterday due to today's weather forecast. I had to.sign an acknowledgment that he doesn't follow CDC guidelines. He spent a long time with us and shared a lot of useful information. He looked at my blood work from my ER visit and did a physical exam. He is 100 percent sure I also have Bartonella and almost sure I have Ehrlichiosis. He said that, because I've been infected since May, the 28 days of regular strength Doxycycline was too little too late. He prescribed four different antibiotics; one is 13 day intermuscular injections, and the other three are one month oral. One week after I start the injections I do a mild steroid pack. He gave me a very strict diet to follow (he said life-long 😳), Florastor, two Epson salts baths a day...That's all I can think of. Oh, lots of preventive instructions. So here I go! Feeling a big nervous yet pretty optimistic.

That's great to hear Flrpwr, I'm glad he caught the Bartonella, it's a tough one!

sounds like a reasonable plan to me - given the different infections
i ate well before i got lyme - but i took my diet to a new level after much experimentation and it has paid off - in fact i only started moving forward after making these changes
its also almost free ( not many treatments are) and has no side effects ( unlike most treatments ) so for me its a keeper
definitely be optimistic - but also be prepared for things to get worse before they get better - eg "herxhiemer reactions" are normal
good luck and keep us posted!

Flrpwr,
Glad you got to see a doctor. Did the doctor say what symptoms convinced him you have bartonella and what symptoms he connected to ehrlichia?

He told me as he was examining me, but my brain is like a seive. He didn't write that part down. He also listened to my symptoms and would say, That's bartonella, or That's Lyme. I do remember that my biceps are super tender but my triceps are not. That was one bartonella indication. I wish I were more help, but the brain...

Do you recall which he thought the rib pain was from?

I also was infected in May 2022.
