I'm dealing with UC like symptoms (not diagnosed) but I am certain I have hydrogen sulfide SIBO. That one is a guarantee. I also have Lyme. I was wondering if anyone has used black seed oil here or know if it is safe for H2S sibo. I believe it carries some amino acids like methionine but don't know if it's safe for a temporary low sulfur diet. Thought I'd ask since black seed oil is also used for Lyme. Thanks.

I'm afraid I don't know the answer but I did find a list of all the constituents:

Looks like it's mostly 9-Eicosyne. Linoleic Acid and Palmitic Acid.

ref the concern over amino acids - its a clear oil so there will be essentially zero amino acids
the seeds themselves will contain proteins and therefore amino acids that they are made from - but these are filtered out when the seeds are pressed to make oil
i have been taking the il for a good while now - and have not noticed any gut effects good or bad from taking it
i was taking it as its supposed to help the immune system fight infection via mechanisms like re-enabling apoptosis in cells that have been infected by bartonella and prevented from undergoing normal apoptosis
i did experience some herx like symptoms initially from it at 1table spoon per day (approx 10ml )

Thanks for being so dang helpful guys!! I bookmarked that photo @RainyCloud. @Garzie, judging from this photo, you are completely right. The amino acids are from the proteins in seeds. I took a mild BSO at a teaspoon and there's no verdict yet. I am experiencing an uptick in the pains I normally experience. Especially the pain around my spine and neck. I wonder if this could cause an uptick in Mast Cell Activation. I have major inflammation issues and not sure what it means if black seed oil causes it to worsen. It would be tough to ride it out if it is a die off reaction. The pain can be debilitating and when there's an increase in this pain, my menstrual period bleeding is pretty gnarly. So my uterus is constantly inflamed with infection too.

When I tried black seed oil, I also had a rise in symptoms, even on a small amount. Tried to raise the amount little by little, but finally had to give it up. Tight neck and migraines were the issue.

some herx like reactions are probably to be expected
i think i had mild increases in fatigue at times in the month after i started
this is par for the course with anything antimicrobial in these chronic infections
BSO often has some carvacrol in it - as well as thymoquinone
carvacrol is highly antimicrobial to several intracellular pathogens including bartonella, borrelia and Babesia
i also find oils like BSO and Oil of oregano ( v high in carvacrol ) - and probably other essential oils - the herx reactions are not always linear - so can come on after a few weeks at a fixed dose - or last some weeks at a steady dose - so the herx reactions are longer lasting than those from herbs typically are for me -
if its unmanageable i think its just a sign that you just have to lower the dose to go at a pace you can manage
i have had to start some things at 1/40th of the recommended dose and only v gradually work up monitoring herx reactions as i go - but have eventually been able to get to full dose - and benefited from them in the end.
the initial ramp up where you are finding what you can tolerate and how your body reacts is always the hardest part
