Hi everyone, I’m having my hysterectomy on Wednesday. For some reason my candida in my mouth has flared which have been causing me to have coughing spells. My primary doctor gave me nystatin rinse I’m one week in and doing half way better blt not perfect. So my obgyn sent over diflcan yo take for one week. I’m worried about this causing a herx for me right before surgery. What do you think I should do? Thank you!

I think maybe just stick with the Nystatin until after your surgery?

Well you’re doing fine on the Nystatin now - right?
Maybe just don’t take it the day of your surgery,

Girlie it’s getting better but not great. I am worried about when they give me the antibiotics in the hospital.

Maybe contact the surgery coordinator and let them know about the thrush. It’s possible they may want to delay the surgery.

Thank you WBF the surgeon said it won’t affect the surgery but I’m worried. Have you taken either medication before?

I have been on Nystatin tablets and Fluconazole long term. I had some herxing early on, but I don’t remember it being that bad.
