Ascites in Abdomen

I had a lot of tests and scans in hospital due to major stomach issues and a kidney stone. One thing that showed up I was not expecting was ascites in my abdomen. Just a small amount of liquid, but still there.

My kidney numbers were also worse, but I'm hoping that could be caused by the kidney stone that passed right before they were going to remove it. Electrolytes were off for first time, and my stomach/constipation issues have been bad for months. Losing some hope here with autoimmune in the picture also.

AST (25) and ALT (15) were high but not close to being out of range.

Anyone heard of ascites being caused by Lyme or Bart. There is no end to surprises with all this.

bart can cause fluid filled abscesses in organs - esp. the liver

but it sounds like this is something else

these illnesses throw up load of odd stuff and most of it goes just as mysteriously as it arrives
( palpitations / arrhythmias i was having have completely cleared up - but i am now having angina in the middle of the night for no good reason )

They couldn't figure out why, but I was disappointed they didn't do more to check liver. Also, I should have told them no iodine contrast because of kidneys, but I was so tired I wasn't thinking. I'm concerned that damaged kidneys more as creatinine jumped to 1.75. Again, hoping it was caused by the stone.

How bad does the angina bother you?

Bartonella destroyed so much protein that I got symptoms of kwashiorkor. Not just swelling in my abdomen, but also around my ankles, and my hair started falling out.

I also got Prinzmetal's angina due to adrenals and electrolytes being screwed up (not specific to bartonella).

Quin, can you say any more about the mechanism by which electrolytes and adrenals cause Prinzmetal's angina.

i know arrhythmias can be caused by out of whack electrolytes - but i had thought that Prinzmetal's is is a different thing caused by spasms of the blood vessels ?

My best guess is that it was primarily scurvy, that is the loss of vitamin C due to adrenal stress was causing damage to the vascular endothelium, and ultimately causing the spasms. Obviously this was exacerbated by the infections, and my blood pressure being screwed up due to the electrolytes. I was also getting skin rashes due to the rapid vitamin C loss, although this was sometimes hard to distinguish from bartonella.

Taking more vitamin C, and getting the adrenal problem and electrolytes under control resolved it. I didn't need to take huge doses of vitamin C, just a little more than normal. I also took hydrocortisone.

its curious - i have had this pretty severe angina like pain - radiating from chest through shoulder and down left arm, along with a kind of overwhelming weight on my chest type feeling / almost nausea - happening in the night and waking me up - or sometimes when cooling down from a hot bath

only been happening in the last 2 months - and coincides closely with previous steps up in dose of oil of oregano ( which i am taking alongside buhner's bartonella herbs and methylene blue - and has been working well for me as my overall health has been moving forward) - typically the chest pain kicking in a few days after the dose increase.

i stopped the o of o as a trial 2 days ago - and last night was the first night in about a week i didn't have the chest pain - so seems connected to oil of o for me - perhaps driven by herx reactions / inflammatory response to killing more bart ??

i did have v low vitamin c on an OAT test a few years ago - presumably due to oxidative stress and fee radicals from infections using it all up - have been supplementing with around 3g a day since then.
