Anyone experienced in classic homeopathy?

Recently had a remote visit with a practitioner I decided to try a remedy from. Was given Chin. 30c - 1 in am, 1 in pm.

Initially had a little more pep and excitement, neuro inflammation felt calmer and neck pain / headaches were non existent. Went grocery shopping and hit a wall at the end. Fatigue so exhausting I laid in bed which I never do. Intense heat / fever sensation (I'm usually chilly). Hands wouldn't stop sweating. Felt a little irritable and short fused. Took second dose around 8:45 pm. Was ready to go to bed by 10:30 (usually 12). Took melatonin early but it maybe gave me energy instead? My brain wouldn't turn off. Tossed and turned until 3 am where I got thoroughly fed up with the fever sensation and un-comfortability, lots of intrusive memories etc.

I still feel off.. but also only slept a few hours. No more dosages to take for now.. but I think it was the wrong remedy? Or I'm having a very unusual herx? Head and neck hurting again etc so I'm thinking that means it was more suppressive of those symptoms and again not the remedy I needed?

It’s very hard to say that it wasn’t the homeopathic solution. Lasted about 24-48hrs. A lot of my symptoms matched the description of the remedy (proving reaction they call that). But I also found some suppressive action in some of my symptoms from it and some sort of shift following which I’ll have to monitor over the next few weeks. I just think it wasn’t the exact remedy I may need or the right dosing.

The idea is to give a homeopathic dilution of a substance that would cause a similar set of symptoms in a healthy individual. They refer to the dilution as leaving the “energetic signature” of whatever substance chosen.

I know it sounds like witchcraft but the history of classic homeopathy is pretty fascinating.

I’ve tried A LOT of things over the past few years, not much has given a clear response that could also correspond with improvement in symptoms. This seems to be in my top 2-3.

My daughter has also tried remedies from a classical homeopath. Remedy prescribed was ordered to be given as follows: 1 drop in 4 oz water. Then take 1 drop of that solution as the dosage. That sounds absolutely crazy BUT similar scenario played out with feeling better and more energy for two days and then totally crashed and felt bad physically but also mentally felt “not like herself” and tears just fell even when she didn’t have a clue why. Homeopath recommended to stop that remedy and symptoms subsided. I can not wrap my brain around the fact that ONE diluted drop of already diluted material could cause that effect but I’ve seen it happen far more times than I could count. I’ve even given her the drops without her knowledge just in case like it was a mental thing and it still happened. Just wanted to share our experience as well.

As usual, I seem to be the odd duck for whom things don't work.

Years before my tick bite, I would buy homeopathic remedies each Cold & Flu season, based on the suggestions of the clerk. But, unfortunately, they never worked for me. And, I do mean never. Not in the slightest.

This was before I'd ever looked into what homeopathy entailed, so I had no idea what it was, how it was created, or how it was supposed to work. I simply thought "homeopathic" was a buzzword (like "natural") meant to convey that the product was not a pharmaceutical. So, I didn't have any mental bias against it.

If anything, early on, I expected the various remedies to work, based on the fact I was told they were popular and that many reported safe and effective treatments. Of course, my belief in whether the product would work or not should have been inconsequential. Either something works or it doesn't.

Once on this forum, I was reminded of homeopathy, as people shared their experiences. Since a couple of people reported success using Jernigan Nutraceuticals remedies from the Hansa Center (now Biologix Center), I booked a consult with Dr. Sara Jernigan and ended up purchasing three or four of their products. Regrettably, once again, I had no benefit. Luckily, I had no negative effects, either. Except for the money spent.

Once I found YouTube videos of James Randi buying bottles of homeopathic sleeping pills and ingesting the entire bottle with no effect, that did it for me.

All that stated, people obviously report benefits. I have tended to attribute this to placebo or possibly a misattribution to other positive diet, lifestyle, or medicinal interventions. But, those would be unlikely to explain 100% of the reports. Plus, there's Blakeleysmom's experience where she gave her daughter a homeopathic solution without the daughter's knowledge and she still reacted.

Like magoo2 says, "do what works." I'm still trying to discover what that will be for me.
