Stressed over new car

OMG
We bought a new car a few weeks ago. Our old car was an 2008 or ‘09

I’ve cried three times trying to learn all the “stuff”
But my husband had no issues with it - jumped in it - drove it off the lot and drove home.

I don’t recall having trouble with the last car we bought -is it because it’s been so long between cars - or is it my poor memory from lyme??

always going to be a bit weird if you have come from an ICE car

you will soon get the hang of it

people who drive different vehicles - eg own more than one car - or drive work vehicles etc will always find it easier to jump from one to another - you learn to adapt quicker

the less cars you drive and the less often - the more of a leap a new one will feel - as those bits of your brain are not accustomed to learning new things

My husband does drive different cars.
He has one he drives to work (our old car), and he drives a van at work.. and he also drives my car and now our new one.

So now this new car - hasn’t been a challenge at all!

For instance to put on the parking brake - you press a button on a lever by the steering wheel!

There is even a big difference in different brands of gas car dashboards now. Chrysler/Jeep has the most confusing heat and AC adjustments possible. The old blue blending to red lever or knob was universally known. Now we push specific buttons that take our brain off the road.

The old pre 1980 high beam floor/foot button was there because it was easy, and every brand used that (almost). It was more difficult with a clutch peddle down there too though.
