Interesting Babesia Streaks similar in appearance to Bartonella

This is an interesting case of a babesia patient in Finland being infected with B. divergens and experiencing streaks that seem similar to bart.

Adds a new thought to it all. The symptoms are all so similar it's really quite incredible and sadly confusing.

The paper said they were not splenectomised - which is known to cause much more severe - if not fatal babesiosis - but that they had a "rudimentary spleen" - which is a term normally used to describe some developmental defect in the formation of the spleen - which typically impacts its function.

The slides of the blood showed a high degree of parasitaemia - more than you would normally see

They also said that he had disseminated aspergillosis - that's very serious indeed - so it could have been that that killed him.

it could also be what had caused the odd streaks along the veins lines - as that's where the disseminated aspergillus would be - and i think its disseminated clotting that typically kills people with septicaemia.
