Hi all! I really would like to give Rhodiola a try again but really worry it might be estrogenic. Anyone have information about this? Notice any effects? thanks.

I also thought I'd piggyback this post with some hormone questions. Anyone know what this estrogen to progesterone ratio means? estrogen dominance? I think the 227 may be too high for the <0.5?

The ratio of estradiol to progesterone is:
227 pmol/L estradiol to <0.5 nmol/L progesterone

Oh no.I don't want to be right lol...but there's also contradicting information that it's anti-estrogenic. I don't know what to believe!

I also edited my original post..if you can please take a look. Any opinions?

its not an area i have dug into much - but i just wanted to highlight that because these hormones are normally fluctuating up and down over a cycle i think its usually difficult to asses from a single snapshot in time - as the situation could be reversed if another snapshot is taken a week or two later

hormones are a tricky area at the best of times - and lyme an co can add another layer of variability and instability into the mix making them very difficult to figure out
my partner was plagued by this with Lyme and bart

she took Rhodiola long term without issues by the way

my general feeling would be if estradiol is genuinely dramatically raised all of the time - finding the cause of that and addressing it is likely to yield the best results.

Looks like low progesterone to me. So effectively the estrogen is high, but the problem is more likely to be with the very low progesterone. The proportions are off.

That said, hormone testing is kind of awful because levels fluctuate so much from sample to sample and minute to minute.

Are you in perimenopause? Lower progesterone is very common and causes most early symptoms. People often find help with vitex or supplemental progesterone.

I was dumped precipitously into perimenopause when I got sick with tick-borne disease at 33 (I'm 40 now). My hormones tanked and just never rebounded properly. It's something I work on fixing literally every day!

Lara Briden's work is interesting, and the book What Freash Hell Is This? by Heather Corrina is excellent.
