Nystatin harsher than abx for some?

Anyone else herx harder on nystatin than antibiotics?

Not in my experience, as Nystatin did not control Candida levels either.

I needed to the next stronger Rx for internal Candida. Forget the name now...started with an "F" ? Someone will know. That one made me herx, I would get heat waves throughout my body and sweats.

probably fluconazole

there are recent studies showing the azole antifungals are also highly active for bartonella - including bartonella persister cells - where the azole drug tested was more effective than any of the typical bart antibiotics in vitro - and as a result its being used by LLMDs to treat bart

this could be one reason why herx reactions are experienced by people with lyme who take fluconazole

Yep,...Diflucan brand name for Generic drug name of fluconazole.

This cured my Candida and also cleared the Can Albican antibodies I had. (2 different occasions for both)

Didnt know it went after Bart.

There are also some other possible reasons that it might create "herx" symptoms:

It can also interfere with the endo system, temporary thyroid level possibilities.

"Azole antifungal drugs exhibit a wide range and variety of drug-drug interactions. They are a substrate for and inhibitors of cytochrome P450 (CYP450) enzymes, as well as inhibitors of membrane transporters such as P-glycoprotein (P-gP)."

In my oppinion nystatin is:
1. Not very strong
2. Very Low in Side effects.
3. So Safe its OTC in Germany and Germany is usually very restrictive

And never forget nystatin never works systematically! It only works in your gut. If you need it in your mouth get the solution.

Your summation of Nystatin fits my experience, Blazer. I has little reaction and little help from it, but Diflucan kicked my butt. Looks like I'm going to have to try it again.

You can't get Diflucan in Germany?

You need a prescription for it but its Not very hard to get..

Unlike ivermectin wich is basically completely Impossible to get since Corona because its so harshly advertised against it Here.

You can get nystatin from Inhouse Pharmacy, and ivermectin from All Day Chemist.
