Just another one of my “ramblings”. 🤔
Certainly nothing to do with Lyme disease other than energy related.
I post every fall about
the change of seasons, lack of daylight, etc. Affecting some more than others, depending on their individual chemistry, and where they live.
Last weekend was pretty awesome in the 50s and sunny then it turned into the low 40s and a lot of rain the whole mid week. I’m going to a big campfire gathering tonight …and I hardly even feel like going. It’s just wet, cool, and gloomy outside. Ugg.
I was hoping the United States would get this permanent daylight savings time figure it out. It was getting somewhere last year, then got held up and never passed yet. So early November we will turn our clocks back again, …so it’ll get dark in the late afternoon.
I don’t think it would bother me as much If I didn’t work full-time , at least then I’d have some daylight in the middle of the day to do things. Plus, I’m a little more motivated for snow removal during the daylight hours versus after work before or after dinner.
At least the icing on the cake is that spring will always arrive, even if that means 5 1/2 months from now.

The best thing about
summer for me is not the heat… because nowadays it seems to get too warm for me, but I like the extended day light. The Northwoods where I sometimes go camping - the June sun doesn’t set till about
10 PM.
This summer was warm and often filled with forest fire smoke so I never went. I’ve gone camping there in October and woke up to forest fire ash one morning, then snow the next. Fall Camping can be pretty boring when the sun goes down at 6:30 pm. Five hour campfires before getting in my sleeping bag at 10 -11 PM is a little too long. But the fact that I once had the whole campground almost to myself in one of the most northern boarder campgrounds in all of the states besides Alaska was pretty cool though. Along with the wind, the sound of nearby flowing water, and the occasional wolves howling made that a kind of Halloween camping experience.
(If I keep doing this, as I get older, I should maybe start looking at the latest offerings in satellite phones or something that works when there are no cell towers around).
