i would class Vibrant as a second tier test company

they offer multiple tests at a fixed price point and go to market on a low cost per test basis - but they have less robust published validation studies - so we don't really have good information on how useful the testing is - and so although they are low cost per organism - its hard to establish the value

igenex is generally regarded as a first tier test company - and are used by more respected LLMD's.

testing for tick born illnesses is tricky - and in general there is ono single test technology that works well for all of them - so you may need to pick different test types for each target organism - or test for each organism with multiple test approaches

i am sorry its not more straight forward - but this is the state of the testing we have available today

Used to need a Dr (ND or MD) and nurse practitioners .
Also Chiropractors can.

After testing negative using the typical US insurance-covered western blot testing for Lyme, and antibody testing for bart, and Babesia, and subsequent gas-lighting by my primary care that made me really question everything, I was convinced to do the Vibrant 2.0 test (after way too much agonizing over the decision) on the recommendation of an LLD. The test does have the VlsE1 and c6 peptide (which were very strongly positive for me), and which I feel are pretty trustworthy indicators for Lyme based on the reading I have done. I was still CDC negative on that test, with only a few positives on Lyme-specific bands and negative pcr for everything, but it was enough to make me finally really believe (well, maybe still some niggling what ifs) that this is what I am dealing with. I had a medium-level single antibody response each to bart and Babesia and the LLD dismissed those. It was only later, when deciding to do Horowitz’s high-dose dapsone protocol that I did FISH testing for those through IGeneX and was positive for Babesia, that I realized even some antibody response is worth paying attention to when the symptoms confirm. In the end I am glad I did the Vibrant test because it got me over the gaslighting hump, but if I had it to do over again I think I might start with a VlsE1 and C6 test for Lyme (because they would have been covered by insurance) and used igenex for coinfection testing (which turned out to also be covered but out-of-network). I would have carried on with treatment even without positive test results, but I would always have had that doubt in the back of my mind about whether I was on the right track. I so wish there were better and easily available testing for tick-borne diseases to at least get over that first hurdle with typical MDs. Best of luck to you!
