Regardless of the doctor involved, you have to treat the whole body not just the infection some people and doctors just do not get this.
The thought of if you treat the infection, then the whole body will get better is a nice thought , but it doesn’t work that easy. That’s way too much stress on the body.
It makes it easier for the body if you also treat individual body symptoms if you were having those:
Good example is thyroid; if that is out of whack, treat it even if you might not need to treat it after the infection is gone…. do it now.
Also gut issues, figure out what you can, and cannot eat. Yes, you will have a limited amount of food that agrees with you, but this will be easier on your body. Instead of guessing, I went one step further with the Leap MRT food sensitivity cytokine release sensing type of testing.
The most important is the ability to sleep if you cannot. I could hardly sleep for a decade, and my doctor basically said we need to find whatever it is that helps you sleep, just as long as it’s not dangerous for the body to use.
And most importantly, like anything, but appears you’re doing this: if something doesn’t work, make a change.

As far as duration of illness there are many different stories among us. In my case, massive amounts of many different types of antibiotics seem to relieve a certain amount of symptoms that I had probably since childhood (off and on for three to four decades). I was never quite right my first three decades of living however, there were some years that were much better than others and I functioned, but I functioned different than other people. It was a handicap that I adapted to.
I did not have that bedbound feel till around 2008, the same year I woke up 80% blind (dark vision) one weekend. The symptoms I had that mostly seem to pertain to tick infections have gone into remission for about
six years. But, due to auto immune and low immune genetic malfunctions, I probably will never feel or function “normal”, but at least I can get on with the latter part of my life better than I could before.
**So I know that feeling of not hardly being able to move or leave the house. Just gather up your strength and use it wisely when you have to.
It’s survival mode, literally, but you can do it! **
