In an effort to be sensitive to our group members and honor Jake (after discussing with her mom), we want to reiterate that this disease is in fact insidious. It affects everyone differently. Some people have no symptoms at all, and for some people, it's an all-out dog fight, complicated by each of our unique terrain and even further by the response of this opportunistic stealth infection. We must find a cure and support the efforts of those who are actively working on one.
We want to share that Jake asked that any donations being made be directed to further research in Bartonella under the direction of Dr Ed Breitschwerdt at NC State

I am sadly announcing the death of known youtuber and bartonella infected "Bartonella Babe" Jake Picker.
All what has been able to be done, has been done. She had been down to 35kg because of severe MCAS, wich made it even harder to treat her underlying diseases at all.

Rest in Piece. Fly high.

Oh, man!!! So sad to hear that. I recently looked at her channel after getting a response from someone she had interviewed to a question I had posted. I looked at her videos and noticed it had been over a year ago since she had put up a video. I wondered what had happened to her.

I don’t know if she ever mentioned mold, but I always suspect mold when people can’t seem to get better or have great difficulty MCAS, chemical sensitivities, or food sensitivities. Mold and bartonella seem to overlap extensively.

Jake was so young and just a beautiful, vibrant young woman. So sad to lose her.

I've watched a bunch of her videos and am apart of the FB group she helped moderate. Her videos made learning fun. She was passionate about researching and helping convey information. I'm super sad for her, of course, but, it's crazy sad for her mom. The videos made it look like they had a close relationship. RIP

in the state of California where she lived, you can only have assisted suicide if you have a terminal illness and been given less than 6 months to live

I didnt even know since now that she actually Had assisted suicide.

This makes it even more sick that a Lot of patients with chronic severe illlnesses are left untreated and denied by Most of modern medicine.

Its a cruel and ugly World we live in that is only Driven by Money, Power and satanism IT seems.

Belief in god has to be strong in this Times.

Very very sad indeed. Such a pretty, young girl. I don't understand why she couldn't get on TPN or some other type of tube feed at least to give her nutrition and keep her weight up. SIgh. Breaks my heart to hear of such stories. May she rest in peace sad

Being tube fed is just a mechanism of getting food into the body, if MCAS was at play and she couldn’t tolerate food then it wouldn’t make a difference (I have a friend who was tube fed due to gastroparesis but couldn’t tolerate the feed due to MCAS)

We don’t know what happened or what caused her to be given a terminal prognosis, there is only speculation based off what she had been suffering with over the last few years

I kind of understand her. If one is experiencing ongoing pain, depression, lack of perspective, all of lyme and bart symptoms, then the quality of life is very down. Even one can have positive things in life it is hard to see and appreciate. Perhaps to take good care about mind, psyche, is also very essential, just like taking medication. I have under estimated that and also had some very dark thoughts, when i was down. I have to keep reminding myself how life is precious and health can be regained and also one day all these troubles will also pass.
