Lately the pain in the soles of my feet has been getting much worse. I do have a large fibre neuropathy called peroneal nerve injury in both legs but this doesn't feel like nerve pain, it feels like sore, bruised, tender. It's becoming increasingly difficult to walk or put any weight on my feet because this makes the pain worse although the pain is still there even if I don't put any pressure on them.
I've had positive bartonella, babesia and Borrelia (lyme) tests in the past but my latest tests were negative. My LLMD has been prescribing amoxicillin though because by chance I found my symptoms improving on it whenever I had an ear infection, so he was willing to continue a long term prescript
ion due to suspicion of active lyme infection.
They are reluctant to prescribe anything for babesia and bartonella due to the negative tests. I'm thinking of going back to them and explaining how the foot pain is getting unbearable with the hopes he will treat bartonella? Any other suggestions? I'm in England where there are currently only 2 LLMD in the whole country. I'm not sure what to do at this point and can't think straight due to the pain.
Is this pain likely due to bartonella or could it be from lyme or other infections? What other things could be causing this?
When this symptom first started, I thought it was from inappropriate shoes so changed shoes which didn't help. Went to podiatrist who couldn't figure it out, I think they gave me some insoles which didn't help. I ended up having to quit my job which involved walking and standing because the pain was so bad. This was a decade ago. But has come back recently along with other symptoms.
I'm considering going back to the neurologist who diagnosed me with the large fibre neuropathy to see if it could be caused by that? Maybe asking to do the tests for small fibre neuropathy too? and going back to the podiatrist incase this is something different / new?
Any suggestions for temporarily ways to relieve the pain? I have tried topical CBD oil which hasn't helped but not much else.
Thank you for any input, suggestions, knowledge or advice in advance!
