Swallowing issues, okay to disolve or chew medicine?

Hey its me Blazer,

I Had a severe Panic attack because of some Psychological swallowing issues. I have almost choked on a Omega 3 capsule.

I want to know If its okay to chew them or disolve them in water and does the Same apply to other medicine Like tinidazole or antibiotics. (Dissolve them in water and Drink EM)

most should be ok - but be prepared for them to be extremely bitter / taste awful

some are made in film coated tablets to try to slow down their absorption to lengthen the time the blood levels are in the active range - eg clarithromycin - these will state "film coated tablets" or timed release on the packet

a few are in enteric coated tablets - designed to remain intact until the pill enters the small intestine to protect the active ingredients from attack / changes from stomach acid - these will say "enteric" on the packet

a few medications may be somewhat caustic - and aggressive to tissues if not diluted in lots of liquid / food

if in doubt read on drugs.com
if a liquid suspension is available - they are likely ok

Okay thanks for the quick Response. Understood.

So try to Leave the coatet Tablets and try to swallow them? (If very small that usually still managable)

And the non coated can be dissolved without bigger issues?

i cannot say with 100% certainty without knowing exactly what you are taking - and even then i would just google each in turn
