Suffering from 2 types of headaches...becoming more constant

I just found this forum, and after some browsing...feel the need to post.

I am 30, and have been suffering from headaches since I was a kid. I was never diagnosed with migraines until about 5 years ago. I was always told its because of my eyesight, or because I skipped a meal. I have been on numerous meds, including Topamax. Due to my current insurance I am no longer able to take it. While unemployed, I nursed my headaches with Excederin, and saved my few Imitrex that I had for real major ones.

I recently went back to the Dr. and he asked if they have gotten worse. I told him yes, and more frequent. They used to be mostly hormonal, and being on the 3mo at a time birth control, we were able to help regulate. Now I am finding I get a migraine, take the Imitrex(100mg), headache will clear, and after about 12hrs, it returns, causing me to take another Imitrex. When you are only allowed 9 per month, this is not acceptable.

I find that if the pain is worse on the right side, thats a migraine needing the heavy duty stuff. If its anything else, usually a round of Excederin will do the trick. Lately though, I have been getting headaches with crippling pain in my neck and shoulders. The DR asked me to start taking Firocet for these types of headaches.

My stress level is very high right now do to spouse outta work, so I am sure thats part of it, but I also dont sleep well either, and my neck and shoulder pain is always there, with some type of headache. I am also worried about the side effects of Firocet...can I take it at work?

Sorry if this isnt very coherent, I am fighting a headache as I type this, my 3rd one this week, and its only Tuesday!
