Ok on Sept 13 started what I thought was another round of migraines. I have been diagnosed with migraines, cluster and tension h/a many years ago. Seen neuros, internal meds, blah blah.
NOT ONE of them ever ran a MRI/MRA.
Finally it was done Monday night. Reavealed a left sided small fusiform aneuyrsm at the MCA (Middle Cerebral Artery). My head hurts so bad. Nothing touches it. Now with it documented the Docs wont give me any narcotics for fear of masking a mental status change. Nice hey!
The MRI also showed R sided mastoiditis which is an infection of the mastoid bone, the big one right behind your ear. Weirdly enough that doesnt hurt.
The moral to the story is.... dont let them treat you for migraines unless they have ruled out all biological and or organic causes.
I am thankful it was found before it ruptured.
They are thinking of clipping it. Which means brain surgery. Pretty freaky. What makes it worse is I am a RN so I know what really happens in the hospitals.
That is all for now. Will keep you posted.
