Hello everyone
I would welcome any advice or suggestions... my 15 year old son was diagnosed as having migraine attacks about 2 years ago. he also gets tension headaches and often finds it difficult to distinguish between the two. Almost two weeks ago he left school during the day because his head hurt so much. We assumed it was migraine. He was unable to go to school for that whole week, the headache would get a bit better (usually by the evening) but be bad again when he woke up in the morning. Last Monday I took him to our GP who said it definitely was a migraine. he prescribed a migraine drug for future attacks, but nothing to be done about this one. R attempted to go back to school twice during last week but each time he ended up coming back home because his head hurt so much. He has now missed almost 2 weeks school and is just sitting in his (darkened) room on his laptop or xbox. He is not stressed about anything and wants to go back to school as he says he is bored. He does not have any other symptoms, no sickness or anything like that. He looks very pale and tired even though he has been sleeping far more than he normally does. Everything I read says that a migraine attack lasts up to three days, he has now had this for 12 days. As a parent I feel utterly useless as I don't know what to do to help him. Does anyone have any advice they could offer us?
