Hello:
This site has offered me a lot of help already. I am on the road to discovering what is triggering my mystery behind my frequent migraine attacks. I think I even had the neurologists stumped on this one. One neurologist said I have what is called occipital migraines. These are migraines that start off in the back of the head in the occipital lobe. It effects the greater and lesser occipital nerves, which causes tremendous pain in the neck. The doctor told me to go on a special food diet, which didn't work. I have been trying to find my trigger ever since I have had so many doctors tell me different things from hormones to I have arthiritis in my neck. I did some research on the internet and at the library and the occipital lobe's main function is vision. I posted a forom on this web site and a nice person named Mandi responded and told me to see my eye doctor, so I did. I went yesterday. My eye doctor wants to do a visual light test. He thinks my migraines are triggered by light, which makes total sense now. He seemed to know exactly what I was talking about with this type of migraine. I cannot believe my neurologist didn't tell me to go get this done since he wanted me to find the cause. Anyway, I am thankful I found this website and I do want to thank Mandi, I hope she reads this. She has been a lot of help for me because I have been so lost and confused.
