I am on day 8 of a horrible hormonal migraine. I get them every month and they usually last up to 3 days then subside and are usually bad, but this month was especially bad. I have never been so sick and I am on day 8 now and it just won't quit. Ugh! I have a one year old that I have to chase around the house so it doesn't help when all I want to do is crawl into bed and chop my head off. The dizziness, I get heart palpatations, nausea and just the sheer pain my head is in is enough to handle. I don't know why it came on so bad this month.
I had them previous to having my daughter, but not this bad. They went away during pregnancy, but it seems like they came back even worse since giving birth (about 3 months later) and now she is 16 months and they are seemingly getting worse each month.
Oh the stress. My regular doctor suggested seeing my ob/gyn and getting on a pill that stops your period so that I wouldn't have the fluctuations in hormones. Has anyone tried this with any success? I hate to go on the pill. I hated being on them in the past and found they made my headaches worse, but have never tried the pill that stops your period. I always felt it was unnatural, but I will do it if it keeps these awful migraines away or even less often. My family and I can't take it every month.
Any input from women will be helpful before I make my appointment.
