Second admission at Jefferson

I know I haven't checked in here, but I've been all over the place with my migraine. I've missed more work, family functions - half of my brother's wedding, and social gatherings. I'm in a lot of pain.

Since being discharged from Jeff with a 3 headache, I quickly jumped to a 7 and am hanging out between 7 & 10 daily.

Dr. Young wants to admit me again on 12/29. I really don't understand why since the meds don't work for me. I specifically asked about a ketamine admission and was told "not yet."

I will see the doctor Thursday so I can ask him why again and what he thinks a second admission will do.

Where in Ontario can I get these type of infusions done to break the pain cycle. My headache is continuously 10/10 for more than a year.
I need some help please.

I'm sorry that the relief you felt upon discharge was not permanent. It's so frustrating. I'm now considering a first inpatient stay at Jeff myself and wondered if you have any advice. I've had a headache since March and they've tried many of the meds with no change in pain. I have NDPH, not migraines. Dr. Silberstein wants me to consider a hospital stay for IV Lidocaine. I have two small children, a part-time job and crappy insurance, so I'm unsure if it's worth it. Any suggestions?

Hi RIB328 My daughter was admitted to Thomas Jefferson about 3 years ago. Three different times. Last 2 times was the lidocaine iv. Same as you got the pain level down, but when she got home they came right back. We live in New Jersey. She has New Daily Persistent Headaches.
I guess thing have changed there. When she was there they did not do the ketamine iv.
I am curious to see what Dr Young tells you as to why he wants to admit you again, and said not the ketamine iv not yet. Can't wait to here from you. You said you have to go see them again this Thursday? Diane

givenup, a quick question do you have to have a migraine happening to get these infusions? I really want to try them im tired of being sick and missing my kids functions. Im looking in Columbus Ohio for a neuro doctor on Monday. nurse42

nurse 42 no they don't have to be migraines. My daughter has NDPH
