Hi Brea,
Welcome to Healing Well. I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time right now. Unfortunately there are many of us here who share your pain.
Like mommyto3 asked, have you been to see a headache specialist? a neurologist that specializes in migraines? These are the best people to help you.
If this is all knew to you, then you need to figure out what works and what doesn't, what triggers you and what helps you get over a migraine.
For example, I take an amerge at the start of a migraine, then 2 T3s, then 2 Ts, 2Toradols, 2 Gravol and an Ativan. That usually kills the migraine or at least knocks me out so I can sleep. I have cold packs for my brow and hot packs for the base of my spine - cranial sacro therapy. I have developed these plans with my doctor. I am on preventative medications in the day so I only deal with one or two migraines in a week.
I know what foods, weather and even odours trigger my headaches so I avoid those at all cost. Again in the event I do trigger one, I have my little plan.
I have never been to a hospital because of the horror stories I have heard. I am lucky my doctor is happy to prescribe all of the necessary drugs so that I can keep a headache at bay without visiting an ER.
I hope this helps and I hope you are able to find some relief.
Keep in touch. We're thinking of you.
