24/7 Headache

Hello, i've been reading the posts for a while, this forum is a great help for headache sufferers. I don't have migranes, but I have a 24/7 headache that's been diagnozed as NDPH by my neurologist. I also just discovered that I have major TMJ problems and was told that my headaches may lessen or even go away when I fix my jaw (getting an orthotic device put it to move the jaw and correct bite).  The TMJ doc said that NDPH diagnoses is bull.... and it just means that the neuro didn ot know what kind of headache I had.   Howevery my pain level is at all highs right now, so I felt like posting here.   Hope this is not too much information.  I live in California, and was wondering if anyone has heard or used a specific headache clinic that they like in CA.   I've heard of The Keeler Center in Ojai, California. Any had experience there.

Hi, sorry to hear about your head pain. I have chronic migraines daily. Have yet to find a medication that relieves the pain. Sharon looks like your on quite a few drugs. I take lamictal, klonipan, zanaflex, firoicet, vitamins and phenegran when needed for nausea. I don't have any headach clinics near by so I haven't seen any headache specialist just a neurologist. I have also had brain surgery for epilepsy, thank the good Lord the surgery was sucessful and I'm seizure Free! I've had a few auras but no full blown seizures. I hope you get the help you need, I'm searching for a doctor now to help with these migraines.

I hope you keep coming back to get some much needed support. It does help alot to know you aren't the only one feeling so bad. Cindy, I used to take fioricet too. It helped for along time, then one day wouldn't touch the pain. I hope you continue to get relief from it. I am so happy that you are now seizure free, what a wonderful thing! Im a 27 year old guy that also has constantly 24/7 headaches caused from verious head injuries, and iv been through so many different medications, narcotics and non narcotics that I finally came across one medication that finally liberated me from being a slave to these headhaches, Its a Narcotic called Methadone and there has been some very bad things said about it, however I beleive for some people the benefits def outweigh the risks, such as myself for example cus is given me my life back. I have to be careful not to become addicted to it, however I am dependant on it, meaning if I go off of it for more then 4-5 days ill start withdrawling and thats not pleasant at all! I also take 80MG 3X daily Propranalol to help with the headaches, it lessens the pain, I also take 4 10MG Compizine for neasea, and plus im also on Prozac to help keep my mood up but what I think is far more beneficial in that respect is Megace, its a hormon similar to progestrone and it increases your appitite but at the same time it makes food taste sooo darn delicious and by improving my happiness and mood dramatically, Granted iv went from 170 to 210. Im so much happier then iv ever been before because of the megace and the methadone keeping my headache pain in check. So im just giving you advise based on what has worked for me because iv tried seriously every pain and headache medication known to exist and it took me 8 years to come across Methadone and for me, there is nothing that works better for my pain and getting my life back together, its also gotten me off SSI Disability and I have a job and contribute to society instead of being a mooch and bum.
