Hi! im a 27 yr old male and iv had a long history of headaches dating back to when i was a kid. They started when i was going through puberty and i would start having them in the middle of the day. I remember my first headache attack, I was no older then 11 when i was in class and i felt weird, then sudden pain, so without asking to leave class, I quicky ran to the office for help and when i got there the pain was so bad i fell to the ground screaming, so naturally the princible rushed me to the E.R where they gave me pain killers, im not sure what but it worked, so after that I havnt had another attack like that since. then in my early 20s I got a nasty head injury and from that i got headaches every so often and they where pretty bad. Id discribe the attacks as unforgiving, cus I could hear this crunching sound next to my ears, it almost sounded like rice crispys popping and it hurt so badly and i was dizzy, blurred vision and even after the attack i was so exhuasted. So in responce i went to the doctor and was prescribed 30 Norco 10/325 and 20 1mg Ativan for the attacks, that was back in oct 2001, so as the years went by the Norco was loosing its effect so I got it bumped up to 60, then 75 and by early 2005 i got addicted and I was getting pain meds from different doctors and my doctor found out and terminated my pain contract and I had to see another doctor, and when I did I saw a young female doctor, she was only 25, told her the story and started back at 30 norco again, so that wasnt going to cut it because although I did have headaches almost every single day, I was also dependent on the hydrocodone, the active ingrediant in Norco, so I looked around abit and I finally found Dr.Feel Good, IE a Doctor that hands out narcotics. That was probably the biggest mistake of my life because even though I did need pain releife to get back to life, I also had no self control and this doctor could care less, he was seeing patients every 10 minutes and didnt want to hear about my story or complaints, he was just like "What do you want?" and he would prescribe a reasonably high dose. So i tested him and I said 75 ultram, so i got that, it didnt help as much, went back a second time and ask for vicoprofen and i got 120 of those with 3 refills, so I was back again a month later and ask for oxycontin and norco, thinking I have nothing to loose if he said no, well he didnt, he prescribed me 2 40mg oxycontin a day and 3 norco a day, so thats #80 40mg oxy and #90 10/325 hydrocodone/APAP, Soon I got addicted and out of control until my tolerence went way way up as the months past I decided to go back to him within the same month because I had abused my medication and get another script, well when I asked him for the oxys and told him the maid stole my medication, well that was the end of the gravy train for me. So as i was withdrawling I decided to change my tatics and go in and see another doc and tell her the truth, that im addicted to pain killers, but I seriously need them to fucntion, so she gave me 90 methadone, 3 a day. So I started that and i was very impressed with its pain releiving ability plus it wasnt as addicting as the oxys, but long story short she wasnt interested in helping me, she was just helping my withdrawls, so i stoped going to her cus she wasnt helping and it wouldnt be until jan 2009 until I see my doc I have now, and inbetween those years I almost died from malnutrition, I was extremly depressed from pain, my life was in ruins and I actually had plans for my death, its not like I wanted to die but my headaches got so bad I was using chlorophorm to knock me out so I woudnt feel the pain, I also bought methadone on the street, but that got to be too expensive, so i decided one day that I was going to start out fresh, change my MO and get a completely new doctor, So thats what I Did, I went to go see him and explained my story about the past 9 years of hell with my headaches and head injurys and told him that Methadone works best because it eliminates my pain and I dont have the tendacy to abuse it like oxycodone, and so I said id take 4 a day, which was more then the 3 i got before, and it had been over a year since I was prescribed any pain medication, so I was extremly happy to get 120 10MG methadone, plus I also got propranalol and compizine for neasea. That was back in jan 2009. Today im on 4 20mg prozac, 80mg megace, compize, 80X3 Propranalol, 270 methadone, and norvasc and iv been using the methadone responsibly since and within that year I was able to start dating again, get a job, and live a normal life all thanks to Methadone, So if you dont want to experiment with all sorts of medications and get addicted in the process, I highly recommend you ask your Doc for Methadone because its not only helped me, but its helped alot of other people live their life, however there are some drawbacks, u can die from it if you take too much, so you must find the right dose for your body and what ur tolerence is, I have such a high tolerence that my chances of dying are very miniumal. So I hope this helps you out, Take care -Matt
