nerve block?????

HI everyone, was wondering has anyone had a  nerve block?  im getting one next week. I take Depakote 250mg twice a day and verapamil 180mg twice a day and some pain relievers, Maxult when its really bad. im still uncontrolled the depakote makes me sick but i take it anyway.   Nurse 42

I've had them severe times. I'd be happy to talk to you about the experience, though I've got to get to bed now. Please post any specific questions you have and I'll try to answer them tomorrow.

HI Ben, just getting back to you on that nerve block I have been ill with these nasty headaches!!! I was wondering how they do it? and do you feel differnt right away? Is it done in the office?  Im pretty nervous. Do you still get them? Nurse42

I've been getting nerve blocks for the past 5 years. Which nerve do they want to inject. It feels a bit more than a regular injections as its going into the nerve. All of mine have been done in office. Its take just a bit for the area to go numb and can last anywhere from a few hours to a few days. The injection shot is usually pretty tender for a few days but nothing major. I've had the occipital, supertrochea, stellate ganglion, as well as a few other areas I'd have to look up. Sometimes they help, sometimes not but I've known folks who got great relief for awhile from them.
