Poll: What's your longest running migraine?

Mine is now.. it's been a few days. Usually, I get frequent migraines, but they last part of a day a piece, not days on end. This time sleep isn't fixing it. Actually, I feel so lousy that I haven't been able to sleep today, so here I am. I hope my headaches just go away. I've never been so frustrated with it that it brings me to tears. At least it's not doing damage or anything, but it sure does hurt.

What about you... have you ever had a week full of headaches day and night, with no break inbetween?

I can relate.  Mine is going on 7 weeks tomorrow.  However, God has been merciful because I did have the past 4 days without a migraine.  But, this morning, I awoke with the pain again.  I refuse to take another pill.  I am waiting for the Topomax to do its job, but i am barely starting 2 a day.  My upper teeth hurt too.  I hope you find relief soon.  I will be visiting the accupuncturist again later today.  I saw him a week ago Sunday, and it did work for 4 days at least.

7 weeks?? Wow, that's terrible. Nothing worked for it? Have you been to the dentist lately? Just curious, if your teeth hurt. I've had cavities. Hope yours goes away.. that's the longest I've ever heard of. :(

I've got 1 year 2 months and counting.....
Mine is going on right now too. I think that's the longest running migraine spell I've had. I could be wrong though.

I have chronic migraines. I have a migraine almost everyday, but ranges different each day on a scale of 1-10. Yesterday was a 10 plus, and this morning I woke up at 4:30 am hurting. I've had migraines since I was a teenager, which was a long time ago, lol. Nothing I take helps so I'm wondering if it's worth even taking anything. Took a relpax yesterday, and the side effects were horrible, last time I'll take it.

Didn't make it to the accupunturist -no one to take me.  Will try again this weekend.  But what else is there?  I am new to this whole thing.  The Topomax has not yet kicked in I think because I still get the migraines.  I have found some triggers like red meat, artificial sweetners, Chinese food, loud noise, and heat.  I accidently drank a diet fruit drink, only 1/2 a bottle and its been painful ever since  Sunday night - I used a Maxalt - but it works only for about 2 hours then the pain comes back.  I was having left sided migraines for the last several weeks, but this recent episode is at the back of my head and my eyeballs hurt to roll around!  Did go to the dentist and the teeth were fine, but he did make me a night guard for grinding.  I feel horrible.  I can't think...drive...work...play...watch TV...listen to music...go outdoors; what is there left for me to do?  How much longer will this last?

My longest before I found the triggers was never ending. Only relief I had was after I got shots then next day I was at another migraine. Thats why I keep suggesting to find your triggers.

Dear GOD! How do you people persevere? I had one this week for 6 days and I was ready to throw in the towel!

You don't want to hear my story cause it's been ten years and no diagnosis. My headaches are bilateral temples and severe and continuous. I have seen all kinds of doctors, done all the treatments possible, tests are all negative and no meds including opiates touch my headaches. Yes I am at the end of my rope with no hope in the near future. I don't know what to do anymore????????? No good headache centers here in Ontario either.

I get episodes of migraine aura daily sometimes lasting severel weeks and the neurological symptoms can be scary with numbness and tingling on tongue fingers etc

Just over 6 weeks was the longest.  Right now I'm on week 3 and trying anything and everything to get it to stop!  Has anyone ever tried a Chiropractor?  I thought I would try that and cut out processed foods/drinks etc.???  I think regular sleep always helps me.

  Have any of you tried the D.H.E. IV treatment?  I'm suppose to go the the University of Va Hospital in Charlottesville in two week to be admitted for two-three days for this treatment. I have daily chronic migraines. They have kinda of taken on a life of their own in my head. Hoping this will break the cycle.

I suffered with Migraines from childhood spending a week at a time in bed, then as an adult daily starting early afternoon until I was 40. My Dr. gave me a script for Sibellium after trying all kinds of meds and after a couple of weeks the Migraines stopped completely. I had read somewhere that you grow out of them by 50 to 55 years old so at 55 I cut back to 1 cap at bedtime then 1 month later to none and low and behold no more Migraines. Only problem I found with Sibellium was I felt tired all the time but kept taking them to keep the Migraines away small price to pay, but 6 months later that went away. Now no more dark rooms free of smells
