Unlike a lot of you, I've only been suffering from migraines since January 11, 2008. That migraine lasted til April. I spent 4 months in bed, so many trips to family Dr., Neurologist, Chiropractor, OBGYN, whoever I could find to try to help me. The winter of 2009 wasn't much better.
Fast forward to today... I did great over the summer! Only 4 or so migraines for the whole season!! They were quick ones... take a pill, go to bed, then wake up feeling better! As soon as the weather started changing a few weeks ago (I live in Ohio), my migraines are out of control again. This current migraine has not left for 3 weeks.
I currently take Gabapentin, Aleve and Relpax. Relpax is no longer working for me...just like all the other triptans! Which scares the crap out of me! What do I do when there are no more triptans to try? Zomig is the only one I haven't tried. I'm trying to hold off on trying that one till around Christmas. That way I can get through the holidays.
My next step is Botox? I'm thinking it's either that or I'm moving to a warmer climate where I don't have this crazy weather pattern. Truthfully, I'm ready to pack up my family and move. But then, what do I do when/if it quits working like everything else?
I can't imagine spending another winter in bed...like the last 2 winters!
