Hi LVL -
I take both Wellbutrin XL and topamax. I am on 125mg of topamax. I have been on the wellbutrin for a few months longer than the topamax. I do have issues with some foods causing me problems like you describe, but my issue with gluten existed long before both meds, and dairy started 6 months after. None of my problems started shortly after taking either one. So I wish I could give you a definitive answer regarding whether the combination causes a problem, but the only thing I can say for sure is that I know both have an appetite suppressant effect and the combination could certainly make you feel full very quickly. I hope you find an answer and something to help with your migraines.
Wow, I can't believe your GP would forgo trying a medication that might help because they don't like potential side effects. Isn't it about
whether you, the one taking the medication, can tolerate potential side effects? And not everyone gets all the potential side effects either. If the topamax works for you, great. If not, maybe something else will. Everyone is different. For me, it's been a wonder drug that has given me my life back. For other's it's a nightmare.
And your neurologist sounds like a jerk. Just because he doesn't believe in acupuncture is not a reason to ridicule it. Especially because the goal is to treat the patient's pain, and acupuncture certainly does no harm and doesn't interfere with anything he would be doing to treat you.
And I'm totally with you on the natural remedies. As if we all haven't tried that before resorting to the big guns? Wouldn't we all love it if a $6 bottle of melatonin or herbs would fix the problem rather than an expensive prescript
ion?
Best wishes and good luck to you! And hey, maybe the botox will help!
