hi i have siviour pain only on right side of head behind eye causing my eye to water, inner ear feels like someone is stabbing inside my ear with a long sharp needle & forehead i have had these pains for the last 3 yrs they come and go and have even caused me to black out and faint but lately i have had the pain every night for the past 10 days and never really this painful, i have gone to see the dr who has told me its my jaw i have also seen a ear nose throat specialist for my sinuses but no1 can figure out what it really is.
i work in the mining industry so its very dusty but i quit for 13 months and never had the pain that whole time and now that i work back in mining its come back even worse then before. The dr has different answers for me eg jaw clenching, migraine, headaches and some have even told me that im over reacting and that the pain could not be as bad as im describing, someone please help me its ruining my life the only thing that i can do is have paracetamol and pass out in bed

Hi, I understand your pain-i have the same thing...my neurologist is calling it a C2-C3 nerve root triggered migraine, also been told by othe neuro's an occipital migraine. My new migraine doctor is the best! He moved and came back and I found him again!! He says that verapamil (calcium channel blocker for blood pressure) at 80 mg, twice a day will make it go away forever!! I believe him. Ask your doctors if they would consider trying a blood pressure pill as a preventative?? Worth a shot...my only complaint, as a women is it kinda numbs stuff below the waist...side effect. Might effect you in a different way, if it does have them change the drug, others may not. At this point, I don't care-i can't take the pain anymore! Hang in there and I wish you luck! (He has also ordered a cervical epidural local/steroid injection to C2-C3. You can have one every 3-4 wks, up to 3 a year. Usually hold the the last one until you really need it. He says it'll help considerably.) Talk to your neuro...when he pushed right up and behind my ear, sent electrical shocks to my face-don't recommend doing it, but your neuro might do it on exam...again, hang in there!! Amy

You may want to look up two types of headache and see if either of these seem to fit you (extremely well):
1. Cluster Headache
2. Ice Pick Headache
