I have had similar problems over the past 4 years. It all started out with a feeling like I was going to pass out when i was out of town for work. I went to the ER and the said that I was only dehydrated. Put an IV to replenish and then sent me home. Over the next month, I was having a hard time functioning. I would get up in the morning for work, get in my car and then start to drive but have to turn around becuase I couldn't concentrate. I went to a neurologist who stated that I am having classic migranies (never had them before). He put me on Topomax. That didn't solve the problem. I then went to an ENT who did a CT and found some sinus issues and did surgery in 2009.
Things got better, but not completely. I started to see another neurologist that took the time to listen to my symptoms and actually treat me. I have been on amitryptilyne 50 mgs for about 2 years and it seems to help, until recently. I started to get panic attacks and fears that I never had before. My PCP put me on Clonazepam .5 mg and combined with the Fioricet that I take for the migraines, it has helped. the headaches are still there (back of the skull, behind both eyes, and on the top of my head). I have had every test in the book, and everything is coming back normal. The dizziness is still there from time to time, but I can't say that there is one thing that triggers it.
As all of you feel, I just want to get back to leading a normal life that does not give me the headaches, dizziness, lightheadness, and anxiety. Finding the right doctor is the best medicine. You need someone to listen to you and how you are feeling. If you are seeing a doctor who dismisses your symptoms, go see another doctor.
