Switching from Topamax to Lyrica?

I find that Lyrica doesn't work nearly as well.

Topamax, however, gives me stabbing burning pains in my hands and feet occasionally. It also causes hallucinations and my job performance diminishes severely. But 0 headaches. The months I was taking it I had no headaches or migraines when I was having them almost daily.

Lyrica is great, it helps a lot -- but I still get a migraine about once per week.

I am thinking of switching from a daily medicine to getting the small amount of "emergency" pills and just taking excedrin for bad headache days to take the edge off and saving the emergency meds for when the headaches are bad enough I cannot function.

I also worry that both medicines are effecting my sleep.

What would YOU do? Take the medicine that works and risk your promotion? Take the less effective medicine with fewer side effects? Take no medication and do 100x better at work?
