(No Subject)

I am new here and relieved to fond this forum. I have suffered from migraines on ad off since my teens. Since my 30s has become unbearable at times. My major problem is severely allergic to nsids. Can't even take aspirin. I have been on pain management for my knee for 10 years so tolerance for med is very high. I am starting food diary n cut some foods out already. I am on verapamil n buspirone for preventative, tramadol for daily pain, n imitrex for abortive. I have at least 1 bad one a month which I must go to the er for to get iv drugs. I am unable to get out of bed n just cry got days when I do get it. Just tired of taking so many pills n this is really affected my youngest son. He sleeps on my floor to keep an eye on me when it's bad. Luckily my family is very supportive n helpful. Any ideas for any relief would be much appreciated.

Read your post and had to respond. Your story is very similar to mine at the beginning of my quest for what on earth was wrong with me. I too have migraines almost daily to the point of nonfuntion. I went to pcp and after much trial and error i was given amitriptyline. This med can have serious side effects in some and it andmay not work for you but as long as i was able to take it my migraine occurance went down to one every two months and they were not as severe. I truly understand the feeling of i will try whatever anyone suggests to get any relief. I had to stop this med as i did develop side effects after about a year but it was enough time for docs to get a handle on what my other issues are. I do hope this info helps, it may not be the right thing for you but maybe a different direction to consider with your Dr. My son worries too but extra hugs help both of us.
