Has anyone gotten temporary nerve block shots for migraine/daily headaches? It's something I'm seriously considering. I have an appointment to discuss it with my doctor first, but I'd like to hear experiences from anyone who has done this!
I'm the type of person who gets scared of side effects and any numbing feelings. So are the side effects bad? What's it feel like? Did it help? Thanks.

The shots were bearable. I was given six shots along the back of my neck and shoulder area but unfortunately they did not help at all. They caused more muscle pain for the next several days and one shot caused a huge 2"x2" bruise that was very dark and noticeable. It is worth a try though as everyone is different and they may help you.

Ive had a couple of them. My migraines are behind my eyes and that's where the blocks were done. They were unbelievably painful. Imagine someone giving you a shot in the small space between your eyeball and socket. That said, the relief was instant. However I've only had 4. The first gave me relief for about
36 hours and the amt of time declined until the 4th one when I had absolutely no relief. Thats when we stopped them.
The only side effect was a black eye from only the first one. Nothing from the others.

Thank you all for your responses! It seems as though it really just depends on your pain. Along with all of your experiences, the various things I have been reading online are all different. I most likely am going to try it, because of the chance that it could help me. And it does not seem like there are any long lasting horrible side effects from these shots, so it is probably worth the try.
