headaches, lightheadedness and so on... what's wrong with me ? Please help...

I've been having headaches quite frequently but it's not really the 'unbearable' kind of headache, and I've been feeling extremely light headed.

I have no idea what's wrong with me but I'm just curious about it. The headaches have been happening for like 3 weeks I think and almost everyday I have them. Sometimes it's for a quick while but some other times it's like half day, if you know what I mean. The light headedness started like merely a year already from now I think, well it's roughly almost or more than a year, and it's seriously bugging me. I feel like I'm so close to fainting but never did. I get mostly get it like when I stand up from a sitting position and I get it like almost everyday too.

I also forget things quite often now but not always. I forget things like my homework, where did I put my things and so on… What is wrong with me ?

Besides that, I also have like this feeling of one second you're hot and than the other second you're cold. I'm really curious on what's wrong with me…

For the record, I'm a 13 years old girl. I really don't know what's wrong with me...

Can somebody tell me what's wrong with me ??

Hello jojo,

I posted something similar not too long ago and didn't get too many responses but i think i can relate.

I get headaches, in a similar way you do, sometimes short quick ones, sometimes they last all day.

i get lightheaded, dizziness, brain fog where i  can't think or talk right. i get numbness in my face and tounge etc...

ive talked to my dr. a few times about this and he doesnt seem too worried.

He says headaches can cause a host of problems, even the uncommen.

It can be very scarey. ive heard you can even get hot and cold flashes like the ones you mentioned( changes in body temperature.)

I see a Neurologist who specializes in headaches amoung other things.

ive had tests done

a ct scan of the brain

An MRI of the Neck and part of the brain.

All NOrmal.

if you havent already please see your Dr. and get a referral to a Neurologist.

If everything turns out ok, possibly this is headache related but your dr. wil determine that.

Also check your blood pressure after you stand up from sitting to make sure its not too low.

That can cause lightheadedness.

its nice to see that im not the only that has weird symptoms.

Thank you jc, well, my older brother had lack of blood which causes him to be lightheaded but so far, my check up results are pretty normal. I just want it to stop cause it's bugging me... But thanks anyway jc.

Oh, I almost forgot... I know this is unrelated to headaches and all, but my eyes are really sensitive to light and sometimes, it could cause a short headache... anything I can do to stop it ??

I know that people who get migraines tend to be sensitive to light,

Maybe try wearing some sunglasses to see if this helps? Its what i do, and it seems to calm things down a little.

Hi Sweety! I 've been diagnosed with chronic migrines and cervogeenci heahdaches.

I get wicked bad muscles spasms in my neck/back. I do get dizzy at times. Today i woke up in a fog. This is usually a precursor that I am going to get a Migrine.

Sometimes I feel a sensetation like there are worms crawling in my head. Other times I get sharp shooting pains from my neck that moves into m y scalp.

With the headhacs I sually have a pressure pain (sometimes liek a bomb is in my head)

GL. I agree with the Blood pressure commnet. Mine was skyrocketing becasue of the pain.........ANd i get forgetful with them and put stuff places I do nto recall..........

I've just recently become VERY aware of an extremely harmful chemical in our drinks, foods, etc. - Aspartame. It can cause headaches. Along with 91 other side effects. It's in diet drinks, probably most light drinks, often light yogurt, all gum unless you buy gum from a health food store, some breath mints, jello, rumored to be in dairy products the dairy industry is cagey on releasing info, etc.

Simply google - aspartame - and then add migraines or headaches - and you'll see a slew of links come up. It's shocking this chemical (used to create formaldehyde) is in so many drink and food items we purchase.

It often hides behind other names - Nutra Sweet, phenylalanine, Aspartic Acid, Acesulfame-K, sunette, Sweet One, Spoonful.

Ive also heard the same thing about aspartame.

Im always checking the labels before i buy drinks.

if the aspartame is hidden by using different labels then its good to know which ones they use so were not fooled by them.

Aspartame frightens me a lot. I had no idea it's in far more foods than we realize. If you mention how harmful it is, people scoff at the friendly warning, saying - oh I don't drink diet drinks. Well think again, it's in so many, many foods and it's scary it was permitted to be used this much, let alone approved. There are 92 side effects and/or diseases it's connected to now. And yet the FDA is ignoring warnings from health care professionals to ban it.

It wasn't even created to be an artificial sweetener, it was originally made to treat ulcers and somewhere along the way, it was discovered to be sweet. So it's gone in a lot of foods now and considered a "safe" artificial sweetener.

Spend some time and google aspartame, you'll find so many links. Now I realize we can't trust all the links, but there are a lot of people addicted to diet drinks and 5 hour energy drinks (it's in them too), I've just rethought everything I used to put in my grocery cart at Kroger's. I also now buy our toothpaste from the health food store (Crest and Colgate do not have aspartame, but their sweetener Sorbitol isn't very healthy either, we're supposed to avoid it too).

I joke that at this rate I'm going to live on water and carrots (not really).

jojojoanne - well take it slow, at first I eliminated all soda, then gum, then mints, then began reading EVERY food label. Drinks too. I spend a lot of time in the grocery now. I've joked our kitchen cabinets are going to be nearly empty soon, I'm making nearly everything from scratch now, might even start making my own salad dressing, no rice mixes, no mac and cheese, although aspartame isn't in them, they're just highly processed.

Thanks, I feel like I'm on a crusade now, while in the grocery store I want to run up to everyone with items that contain aspartame in them and warn them.

But I do not. I have been known to stand in a specific section of the store and read a label, uttering - oh my God, aspartame is in this now - for full effect. Hey if someone after me overhears me and picks up the same food box after I've left the aisle and reads it, maybe I've clued in a newbie into the dangers of aspartame?

This all reads like a thriller novel to me, I've read plenty of them - and yet it's actually happening now.

I've read that some baby food varieties have it now. Are they mad?

I have glanced at baby food jars and containers, haven't seen it yet but there are boost shakes and one had sorbitol I believe. Again, I say - in a baby supplement product!

I was trying to find my husband a healthy high fiber cereal and one had aspartame listed, along with whole wheat flour, oats, etc. I just stood there and said outloud - really? Could not believe it!

Of course that cereal went back on the shelf.

I feel like making T shirts up or something. SO FEW people are aware of this. In fact I wish we could keep a current topic going here - headaches? You may want to avoid aspartame! Sometimes getting rid of headaches is as simple as that - eliminating aspartame and all artificial sweeteners. Once all of that was out of my system along with caffeine (for meniere's reasons), my headaches were flat out gone!
