Hi Nanci,
With regards to my insurance...they pay for my quarterly blood tests and also for my progesterone and triest after my copay. They also pay for my local doctor who orders the blood tests and hormones for me.
My local doctor is my regular MD. She is young and open minded and was willing to let me give this a try after seeing all the research I had done and also knowing my migraine history, how bad I was, and that I'd tried so many things all these years already.
I think if you google compounding pharmacies you will be able to find a bunch. I use Medaus. They are in Alabama which is not where I am, but I just call for refills (after mailing them the original scripts) and they send it right out. (I had tried to do bio-identical hormones before getting on Dr. Dzugan's program at one point, with a gynocologist that specialized in them and she recommended Medaus). I like them because they take my insurance.
It is good that you are getting the book. Let me know what you think after you read it.
The only thing that I would have done differently is start sooner. I actually knew about Dr. Dzugan about a year before his book came out and was in contact with him and his nurse at LEF. They were offering to help me then at no cost but I waited and wasted all that time suffering. And by the time I decided to give it a go he had finished the book and set up the Migraine Program and it cost $! Worth every penny and more though.
I'm sorry I can't think of anymore tips but if you have any other questions I will be happy to try and answer them. By the way my real name is Laurie. I am not sure why I signed on with my middle name. It seemed like everyone else used something other than there name so I guess I thought I would to!
Laurie
