ALJ disability hearing for my chronic migraine/depression soon

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum but needed encouragement and information. I am 35 yrs old and have not worked in almost. 2 years due to my severe chronic migraines and worsening depression and anxiety.

My ALJ trial is April 1st 2014, filed June 2012. Hired a well known lawyer that only handles ssd cases from the start. I have tons of medical records as I went to my dr once per month and the mental drs even more frequently. I worry about the fact that I'm young. Yes, I am but completely incapacitated during my attacks.

Someone help me w my nerves ? A good story about migraines and ssd? Anything.

I'm 31 and have been on SSD for more than two years. I got approved the first time around due to severe Bipolar Disorder and chronic migraines. I wrote a letter to the judge about why I can't work. I emphasized that I tried many different shifts and many different jobs, and that I want to work but I can't. I sent it in with my paperwork. Perhaps you can read your letter out loud to the judge?

I dunno if it will work but it's worth a try! Keep your chin up, and if you do get turned down you can always appeal. If you qualify for SSD you will eventually get it, but you might have to fight for it. I know it's hard to fight when your sick, but having a lawyer should help.

Thank you! Finally someone who is my age that has a similar condition as me. That's a good idea to let the judge know about the different shifts I attempted before applying for ssd. Hopefully the lawyer will emphasize this too. My child support ends in May and my other child's father is disabled from a brain tumor so I will have no income starting in May other than food stamps. I'm scared. It's all up to a judge in ohio named Kearney. I pray he makes the right decision for my family.
