I've recently been diagnosed in Feb 2014, with hemiplegic migraines and really having a hard time adjusting to it. It only affects my left side of my body mostly where I lose control on my left side, I have a lot of pressure on my left side of my head and behind my left eye. They have found inflammation on my left side of my brain and I've already have 3 nerve blocks. So far nothing has been helping, does anybody have any idea's on what I could try?

I can compleelty reltate lil town gurl. I am currently in the hospital after a whole week and dealing with the diagnosis if hemiplegic migraines as well. It affects my left sidr a great deal as well. I don't hav any hellful answers but just know that your not alone. This has been tough on me and my kids and fnaily as I'm sure with yours to. Plz feel free to instant message me anytime. Its hard to tallknto other ppl thqt are not exoeriencining the same things I understand.....p.s.....I usually spell better its just all the meds lol

@ CharliesAngel8806, I'm new to this website so I don't know how to instant message yet. Lol. But I can relate with you 100% on what you are going threw. I have been hospitalize 3 times with this, it affects my left side to where it draws up completely like a mini stroke. It has also affected my memory, my speech, my spelling, my abilities to do normal stuff. It has flipped my world upside down and my husband as well. I can't drive anymore cause I have no idea when I will have a spell. I went from just taking my Thyroid medicine in the morning to taking it in the morning and taking 10 pills at night, this is for the birds. Lol you are right nobody understands what it's like if they don't have it. I hope and pray you have a good day. Talk to u later.

Hi, I've been recently diagnosed with hemiplegic migraine. I've had the symptoms for years, but no one new what it was, and now finally ruling out ms, we have settled on the diagnosis of hemiplegic. I don't get the debilitating head pain, so it was a difficult diagnosis. My migraines primarily affect my right side, although it can be either side and on rare occasion my whole body. I often suffer from paralysis among several other symptoms and just like the both of you have turned my whole world around. I have attacks almost daily, I can't work, I'm going broke and my family is suffering for it as well. I've tried a few drugs with no relief and I've tried to remove several triggers with no relief. I'd love to hear from both of you and maybe together we could figure out a way to cope.

I also suffer from what has been diagnosed as migraines without headaches and my symptoms sound similar to yours. Mine affects the left side of my brain and doesn't cause paralysis, but causes nausea, dizziness, speech difficulties as you described and general ickiness :( all without headaches or occasionally just a mild one. It took 6 years to get a diagnosis. For the past two years, I have been seeing a neurologist at a Headache Center and have tried multiple drugs. I vary from 30% to 80% of the month with symptoms. I would love to speak with someone else that is dealing with this and discuss coping mechanisms. I quit my job two years ago and know what you are going through.
