Has any one ever had any problems after having the omega migraine surgery procedure done?

Here is a link to the webpage that you can go to and download a report about it. The Migraine Treatment Centers of America say that they have created the Omega Procedure by using the info from this report about a procedure called the Reed Procedure. The Migraine Treatment Centers have a short section about the procedure (Omega). They want you to go to a seminar about it that is in the evening and then if you still want to see the doctor(s) you make an appointment to see the doctor the next morning. I actually have a reservation for the seminar on February 28 and I am really interested in the procedure. It might seem a little extreme but I would do anything to have my life back. They have had alleviation of pain in four out of five patients. Maybe this will be the solution for me. Hope this helps answer your question! I would love to talk to someone about it. The website for the Treatment Center says that there are patients available to talk to who have had it done.

i have my testing set up for 2 weeks from know and am hoping that this is the answer i have been waiting 20 years for because my migraines are getting worse with every weather change. I have not yet been able to talk to someone who has had the system installed. i pray it works well.

Where are these seminars at? I am having daily chronic migraines. So tired of being in pain everyday.

If you will go to http://migrainecenters.com/omega-procedure/ they have a list of locations available.  I think that they are headquartered in Texas.  I don't remember if it is Houston or Dallas.  I have an appointment next Wednesday and am scheduled to hear the seminar the night before.  Hopefully they will go ahead and test it on me on Wednesday.  I don't know how big of a deal it is and if they can even do it the same day.  They have an office in Franklin, TN and the seminar is in Cool Springs, TN.  Both of those are on just outside of Nashville, TN. 

I've had migraines my entire life but for some unknown reason the suddenly became more severe and much, much, much, more frequent in 2005 until now.  I have a migraine pretty much every day now.  I can't take the triptans because they make my asthma flare up in a big way.  I can't take Topamax or any of that drug family or I become suicidal.  I'm also allergic to many of the opiates so there is a limited selection to take for pain and what does doesn't help a great deal. 

This Omega procedure sounds a little extreme (they call it permanent) but if I can have a life again it will be COMPLETELY worth it.  I'll be sure and post the information that I get on Tuesday.  Maybe this is a solution.  What a miracle it would be.

Please post and let me know how you do sis199.  Have you had the seminar already?  What state is the office you're using in?  I wish you success.

I pray the procedure works for you all! I have been having non stop migraines for the past several months. I have had migraines for over 30 years of my life. I had epilepsy brain surgery in 2002 and it was a Success! Praise God! However a year later my migraines started getting worse, until now they are daily. Today has been terrible nothing has helped with my pain. I tried taking Frova, but never again! My neck hurt so bad after taking that drug and my migraine has never left. I pray everyday that there will be something that will give me relief. I try to be as active as I possibly can. Was taking zumba classes but had to stop, just to much for this head of mine to take. lol! I have had to turn so many family functions down or do them in pain. :( My grandson's 3rd b-day was this week and he wanted to celebrate at Chucky Cheese if you know anything about that place it is Very Noisy!! lol!! I thought I'd die!! but I did my very best to act like I was ok. I hate having to always act like everything is ok when I am in so much pain, but I don't like to complain so I just don't say anything.

My youngest daughter is turning 11 in just a few weeks, and she is starting volleyball this week. Lord help me! The gym can be very noisy too! My older girls played sports all the way through school, but I wasn't having these chronic migraines everyday like I am now. I do my best to live life to the fullest. It can be a hard life living in this pain, but I always think it could be so much worse. Thank God for a high pain tolerance!

My husband had the trial procedure done in April with huge sucess. Actually went 4 days with one headache, turned device on and was headache free in two hours. He has daily, chronic, headaches. Our insurance will now NOT approve the permanent procedure!! We are going thru all the Appeal process now. It is very frustrating. Why would they approve the trial but not the permanent, especially since he had a 100 percent sucess outcome.
It is like dangling a carrot before the horse!!!

Lmorrisbal, I just wanted to let you know there is a facebook group of those who have the stimulator or are in the process of getting. There is a wealth of info amongst the members, also info regarding the appeal process which may be of interest for you.

The group is called Occipital and Peripheral Nerve Stimulation. Let me know if you need help getting there if you are interested.

In the top left hand bar of your facebook page, insert "occipital and peripheral nerve stimulation". The group should pop up.

Hi, i have the omega trial in right now. I'll be getting it removed on monday. So far so good. For me the worse part was the procedure itself. Its done under conscious sedation so that they can wake you up easier and ask if its working right. However, i was not numbed properly and felt it. It was very painful and traumatic for me. I'm hoping it's different for other people though. Anyways, if you can get through the procedure the rest is fine. I've had one migraine since it was put in a day ago and it only reached a 3. My usual is a 9 or 10 on the pain scale. I'll hopefully be getting the implant soon. Hope this is helpful for everyone.
