5 day "burning" headache

Hello all,

I apologize if this topic has been asked before- I'm brand new here and I hardly ever get headaches so I don't know much about them.

I've had this constant (sometimes slightly there, other times more prevalent) headache at the frontal region of my head. It isn't too severe, just a constant "burning" sorta feeling in the forehead region. It's sorta also aching around my ears.

I was just wondering what might be causing this? I don't feel any more stressed or anxious than usual- in fact, I feel like I've been alot more at ease lately, so it's hard to me to shrug it off as simply a stress headache. Again, I dont' ever really get headaches, and the fact that its been bothering me for almost a week now is sorta starting to irritate, and slightly, worry me.

Does anyone have an idea what this might be, and should I take tylenol or something for it? I have IBS (stomach issues) so I don't want to take anything too rough on the stomach.

Should I just go see a doctor, or am I worrying too much about it and it will prob. go away?

Try some benedryl. Frontal migraines/headaches are usually signs of allergy migraines/headachs. h owever, if benedryl and tynol (or whatever pain releif) does not work, contact your doctor.

In your first post you mentioned the pain around your ears...have you thought about having your ears checked?

I would not worry yet, there are lots of things you havent tried.

Vision- have you had your eyes checked/prescription updated

Ear-pain from your ears can affect your head/neck/jaw etc (think nerves)

Allergy/Sinus- obviously this can affect head pain

Food Intolerance- have you taken any new meds or changed eating patterns

Sleep- have you changed anything in your sleep patterns?!

I called the doc yesterday and she said antibiotics could take the full 7 days to work (now if I can just believe that!) but alas, no relief so far.

When I went in the doc had checked my ears and thought they looked fine-but they ARE still aching, as well as my jaw and teeth, so when the antibiotics are done I plan on re adressing this issue (if the pains still there which I'm praying are not!).

I did already recently get my eyes checked and actually wear my glasses more often than contacts which has helped my eyes, but I don't think this is connected to that.

I know I already listed my symptoms but today the burning pain has moved to the back/sides of my head, and it feels like there's fire on there, causing it to also itch. And there's pressure so bad!

It's just so frustrating for me because I just went through a really rough time dealing with some stomach issues, and Ive finally been feeling better (not any sudden diet changes, just eating small meals rather than large ones), when all of a sudden this head thing came on. I thought I'd "passed my test of life" already and was finally through the tough times. But now this is way worse. Sometimes I really wonder what is going on with me.

I have to wait to go back to the doctor after the antibiotics are done, in a few more days.

I don't think it's a tooth issue- they're a little sensitive but apparently that's a sign of a sinus infection. Doctor has me on sudafed, which has helped with the pressure in my ears and jaw. I've also been taking tylenol, which really doesn't help much at all with the headache. The headache has been here almost two weeks now, non-stop. I sleep fine though, but the moment I wake up to the moment I go to bed it's about the same all day- a "burning" feeling in my forehead, top of head, and back sides.

Anyone else get this? I have no drainage like a sinus infection should have, and anti biotics did nothing to help it. Doctors so far dont' really know, they think either a viral sinus infection, or allergies? I've never had either one so I don't know. I would say tension headache but it's been non-stop, no relief by laying down or doing activities, but at the same time, nothing in particular makes it worse (although working on the computer does make my eyes hurt).
I'd like to go to an ENT specialist but the doctor won't refer me til next week..

Anyway, I guess I just have to keep on keeping on...
