Hello all :)
I'm quite new to Migraines, I have been getting them for the past 15 months or so. Before then, I don't recall even getting headaches. I am a 25 year old female and there's no family history for Migraines/headache etc. I can sometimes go 2 weeks without a migraine but usually I get them about
once-twice a week.
They started out of the blue seemingly, at first I didn't think too much of it as I assumed it was just a very bad headache and it was a one off. Since then I've experienced an increase in the frequency and been to my Doctors when he did diagnose them as Migraines.
So far all I have tried is Peppermint oil (Provides a slight, slight relief briefly) Ibuprofen/paracetamol and aspirin (All of which did nothing) and Sumatriptan, which does work for me but can make me really sleepy, as I can sometimes get an attack within a few days I also feel hesitant to take it too often but the pain usually wins....
Like most I've been trying to figure out what the trigger is, I initially felt it was stress as my work became incredibly stressful around the time they started and has since gotten worse. I have also been on BC (Yasmin) for about
4.5 years) I stopped taking the Yasmin about
3 weeks ago but it's still too early to say whether that was responsible.
I don't drink, smoke, have tea or coffee or any caffeinated drinks, I am vegetarian (Since always) and overall fairly healthy.
I am changing jobs very soon now, so I'm trying to be hopeful this may help but I'm still very new to Migraines really and was just looking for any guidance or advice. It would be really appreciated as I feel like my life is on hold and I'm living in fear that anything I do *might* trigger another attack.
