Has anyone here NOT had success treating migraine with Propranalol (taken alone)?

Have you taken propranalol, not in combination with other meds, and not had it relieve your migraine?

My last visit to the ER the MD recommended propranolol. I am not currently on any of migraine meds due to trying to conceive a baby. They said propranolol may cause birth defects. Therefore I'm unsure if I'm going to take it.

Although I can't keep suffering from these migraines, I don't know what to do.
